Welcome to Great Escape 2024!

Celebrate!  Celebrate! Dance to the Music!!  I’m now guilty of putting that song in your head!  But, hey!  It IS time to celebrate with lots of happening things coming your way at Great Escape 2024!  

We are so happy to have you back and welcome first-timers!  This is Year #2 at Camp Wind-in-the-Pines in lovely Plymouth, MA.  If I haven’t told you before, I grew up in Plymouth when it was just a small town.  I attended Cold Spring School when it was a cool thing to wear your Brownie uniform on the day of your meeting.  (That was probably the day, too, when they served Welsh Rarebit for lunch -- not a good memory!!)  Anyway, a Great Escape option available this year is a tour of the town.  If it’s been a while since you visited Plymouth (or maybe have never had the chance), hit the waterfront for a walk along the wharf.  (Of course, if you’ve never seen “The Rock,” that’s a must.)  And the Mayflower is docked for great photo ops.  The statue of Massasoit, leader of the Wampanoags, stands on Cole’s Hill.  Be a tourist for a day!

And then there’s Great Escape’s 20th Anniversary!  Of what, you ask?  Well, for the past 20 years, Great Escape has carried on the tradition of providing a well-earned getaway weekend for Girl Scout Ambassadors and adults.  Our many diverse workshops range from quiet crafts to high ropes adventure.  The Great Escape Committee has a terrific celebration planned for this year’s event and promises lots of surprises!  Music!  Fun!  Laughs!  Good food (minus the Welsh Rarebit!) and good friends.  We look forward to meeting you there!
